Born in the suffocating, soot-stained depths of Gracklstugh, Bhalgor was intended to be another cog in the Duergar war machine—a stoic, joyless metal-shaper. But the 'Inheritance' changed everything. Bhalgor discovered a family secret buried beneath a layer of volcanic glass: a fossilized root from a prehistoric surface forest. Touching it granted Bhalgor a vision not of the Underdark’s oppressive heat, but of the sun’s transformative, life-giving fire. They realized that the 'deep-bellows' of their people were used only for destruction, while fire could actually be a womb for growth. This revelation 'cracked' them; they were no longer a child of stone, but a vessel for the Wildfire.
Bhalgor fled the Deep, carrying the Ashen Root and a shard of 'Undying Charcoal' that constantly singes their grey palms. They are defined by the contradiction of being a 'Bottom-Dweller' who dreams of the sky, and a Druid who cultivates flame rather than forests. To Bhalgor, the world is stagnant and needs to be 'burned back' so that something beautiful can grow from the nutrient-rich ash. They seek redemption for their race's cruelty, believing that if they can find the legendary 'Sun-Pool' in the surface world, they can bring a spark of warmth back to the cold hearts of the Duergar.
